Our Level 2 paint correction service is aimed to remove around 80 - 90% of the swirls, scratches, and imperfections from your paint. This is where we do an intense cutting and polishing step, called a 2-step correction, to get the most gloss and clarity from your paintwork.
Depending on the condition, whether the vehicle is new or not, some scratches won’t come all the way out. It could be the scratches are too deep to remove safely or the clear coat itself is thinning out (we’ll take paint measurements before we start).
This is where we’ll make the proper judgement call on what we can safely remove off your paint. It’s not just about removing as many imperfections. It’s also knowing when enough is enough to keep the integrity of the paint healthy and within good working boundaries.
And yes, for newer vehicles, even just 4 months off the lot, the paint can still require a 2-step correction service. Although you’ve only had the vehicle for a few months, the car has been transported and handled for many months by many people (in many different places).
It’s during this time that the car is moved, washed, transported, washed, stored, etc… It’s no surprise that vehicles, regardless of make and model, leave the showroom with heavy amount of swirls and imperfections.
The Level 2 Paint Correction is a commitment you’re making to the vehicle. If you’d like to keep the shine on your paint, you have to properly maintain the vehicle after the service is complete. If you don’t properly wash and dry the vehicle, you can easily put all those swirls and scratches back into your paint in just a few washes.
If you’re selling your vehicle and want to prep the paint for potential buyers, our Level 1 Paint Polishing or Wash and Wax is also a great option. Give Duarte's Auto Detailing in Gilmer Texas a call and see what we can do to make your paint looking perfect.
1. Wheels: Properly cleaning wheels, wheel wells, and fenders to ensure no dirt and debris is left behind
2. Thorough hand wash including door jambs, gas cap, and removing bugs off the front end
3. Decontamination Phase: Chemically remove iron particles from your paint to prevent corrosive compounds that deteriorate your paint
4. Clay: Then manually using a clay bar on your paint to remove the remaining embedded containments so your paint can feel smooth again
5. Prep: the vehicle for the polishing phase which is taping off the plastic trim or trim that can get in the way of polishing.
6. Compounding Phase: This is the intensive stage because this will remove the majority of the swirls and scratches from your paint with a cutting pad and compound
7. Polishing Phase: This is the second step to bring back the shine and clarity of the paint and clear up the micro scratches from the compound phase
8. To inspect true condition, we'll wipe down the paint to remove any leftover polish residue that can be hiding imperfections
9. Protection: we apply our entry level 1 year ceramic coating for the extra durable protection
10. Dressing: To give the exterior an extra pop, most of the exterior plastic and trim will be dressed to an even black finish like the tires, fenders, and trim (it will not be greasy)
11. Windows: We'll complete the detail with streak-free glass cleaning on all exterior surfaces
12. Final Touch Ups: We'll do a final inspection of all exterior surfaces and touch up any areas that needs attention
This is the most tedious and labor intensive service. Depending on your car, the condition, and the results you’re after, it can take between 8 to 20 hours to complete.
A great add-on to this service is our Full Interior Cleaning. Both your interior and exterior will be dramatically transformed. Or if you want to upgrade to a better and more durable protection for your freshly corrected paint, Ceramic Coating will be your best option.
Price will vary based on size, type, and condition of vehicle.
Yes we do! This is a fantastic option to protect your vehicles from the elements and weather especially after getting your vehicles paint corrected. You can read more information on Ceramic Coatings here. You can also just stick with the tradition wax and sealants with no additional cost.
It depends on the size and condition of the vehicle. These projects typically take up to 2 to 3 days.
Your traditional wax and sealants will hide swirls and some scratches. And they're washed away, the scratches and swirls will come back. Unlike paint correction, this is an intensive process of actually removing the paint imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, water spots, etc. creating a near perfect surface.
